Burglars break into house, take away 12 sovereigns

Vajravelu (68), a manager in a private teacher education college, and his family had gone to visit his relatives. When he returned home on Wednesday, he found the gold jewellery and silver articles to be missing. He also found the rear door of his house to be broken open. Tiruvannamalai Town Police are investigating the incident. 

In another case of theft, two unknown assailants threatened a 36-year-old engineer and made away with his 2.5 sovereign gold chain. Srikanth (36), who was working in a Bangalore-based company, had come to attend the Chitra Pournami festival in the temple town. Tiruvannamalai East Police have registered a case and are investigating it.
