Electoral tie-up during polls: Jayakumar
Even as most regional parties in the country are wooing the opposition DMK, the ruling AIADMK has not found any possible ally so far.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s recent visit while ignoring the ruling AIADMK completely has affirmed that they don’t expect the ruling party to counter the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha polls.
When asked about the offer of major regional players like TRS and TMC, Fisheries minister Jayakumar said, “Electoral tie up will be decided only at the time of elections. Whether it be a third front or any alliance, the party’s administrative council would discuss the options and the party leadership will take a decision”, he said.
Before the Parliament elections in 2014, the AIADMK was approached by BJP and Congress, besides the Left parties and the regional players in other states. But, it was Jayalalithaa who decided to contest on her own and swept the polls winning 37 seats.
