State to open IAS academies in all district libraries: Sengottaiyan
In order to cater to the needs of the IAS aspirants in the state, the School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan said here on Friday that the district libraries across the state would have an academy, which would also support the candidates appearing for other competitive exams.

Speaking in the inauguration of skill development centre in the district central library here, Sengottaiyan said, even developed countries have admired the intelligence of our students.Â
The state government has allotted a fund of Rs 27,200 crore for the development of school education department. As part of it, the department has decided to introduce IAS academy in all the 32 districts. The academy would function in the respective district libraries and the aspirants can approach the libraries to equip them for the competitive examinations, the Minister said.
Stating that the state government is concerned about the students appearing for NEET, the Minister said coaching centres have been introduced across the state for the benefit of the students who studied through government schools. As many as 31,145 students have enrolled in these centres. This apart, the Union government run NEET coaching centres, which train CBSE students, are being established in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and a few other states and Tamil Nadu will help those students who are willing to get training from these centres also, said the minister.Â
The state board syllabus has been designed on a par with the CBSE and the uniforms also would be redesigned on a par with private school, he said.
