Congress in Karnataka not good for TN: Minister
Continuation of Siddaramaiah led-Congress government in Karnataka would only bring ill to both that state and Tamil Nadu, said Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan here on Sunday. The senior BJP leader made this remark while he left for electioneering in poll-bound Karnataka.

“The Congress government which is power in Karnataka and its head Siddaramaiah had categorically said they would not give even a drop of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Such a government should not continue in power as it would not do any good to either Tamil Nadu or Karnataka,” asserted Radhakrishnan.
On the deadline to file a draft scheme before the Supreme Court, the Minister maintained that he had already elaborated much on the topic.
“Like I have said earlier, let’s hope and wait. Soon the situation would become conducive for the state. Our good hope would not go waste,” the Minister added.
The Minister who was part of the cabinet that approved the decision to amend laws to provide for capital punishment for the perpetrators who indulge in rape of minor girls replied that he was happy on the Presidential assent.
When pressed to respond to former finance minister Yashwant Sinha’s absence from the BJP, he reminded that Sinha has been vocal about his stand and that his move was an anticipated one.
Stop Vaiko’s rally: Tamilisai
Meanwhile, state BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan urged the government to ban MDMK leader Vaiko’s anti-Sterlite rallies citing that the latter was instigating violence in the rally.
Tamilisai blamed the MDMK leader for orchestrating violence against the BJP cadre who were democratically pro-testing against his rally at Udangudi in Thoothukudi. Calling the rally as a bluff, she alleged that Vaiko had ‘received’ whatever required from Sterlite group and is presently protesting to hoodwink the people.
“Vaiko has no locus standi to launch his offensives on PM who is committed to the people of the country. Even as he was greeted with black flags Narendra Modi has only reiterated that his concerns and service would be with people of Tamil Nadu,” she said.
