TNRERA asks realtors to register before publishing ads
Cautioning the realtors in the state, the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority directed them to register under RERA Act before issuing advertisements about their projects
Chennai
In a statement issued here on Saturday, the TNRERA noted how there were a proliferation of advertisements being published in the dailies without mentioning the website address of the authority and the registration number obtained from TNRERA.Â
The advertisement or prospectus issued or published by the promoter should mention the website address of the regulatory body prominently, wherein all details of the registered project should be entered. Also, it should include the registration number obtained from the authority and such other matters incidental to that place, the statement added.Â
Not just newspaper advertisements, the regulatory authority strictly cautioned promoters against issuing any advertisement through any medium – including any notice, circular or other documents or publicity in any form – to inform the public about a real estate project that they are promoting,Â
without mentioning the website address of the authority and the registration number obtained from the authority, the release noted.Â
If the project does not fall within the ambit of RERA, that should also be indicated in the advertisement, it added.
