Jagadish (33), the branch manager, had received a letter on April 19, in which the sender had stated that a bomb would explode as Karnataka was preventing the Centre from establishing the CMB.

Following this, Jagadish informed the Thanjavur East police station, who registered a case and started their investigations. The police found that the sender had mentioned his name and address in the letter.

Based on the information, they rushed to the location and identified the sender as Baskaran (49) of Ayyampettai in Thanjavur.  He has been working as a teacher in the Panchayat Union Primary school in Vengai Kalanchery in Tiruvarur district.

During the interrogation by police, Baskaran confessed that he had written the threat letter as he was unable to hold his emotion against the Karnataka government.

Subsequently, the police arrested him. Further investigations are on.
