After the recent fire accident in the temple on February 2, the administration had banned mobile phones inside the premises. Only temple officials and cops were allowed to carry them inside. Reporters who went to cover the flag hoisting of the Chithirai festival faced a lot of inconvenience and hence Kasilingam, Secretary, Tamil Nadu Television Reporters and Cameramen Association, had filed a petition in the High Court, which said, two reporters from every media house would be permitted to carry phones inside.Â
