Stalin pats Kanimozhi on Nellai protests success

An obedient party worker, who usually sticks to the briefing from the party high command and limits her attendance in party events, DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi has impressed her brother and party working president MK Stalin through her hard work and organisational skills.

Kanimozhi’s active participation in recent party events, mainly the elaborate show her supporters had put up during Cauvery protests in Tirunelveli has won the appreciation of Stalin. The DMK working president had personally called his sister-cum-party women’s wing chief for making the Tirunelveli rally an overwhelming success.

An enthused Kanimozhi shared the joy of receiving a pat on the back from the working president to her supporters and district secretaries in the southern town who had mobilised an encouraging crowd for the event.

Hard work aside, another noticeable change in Kanimozhi’s politicking has been her name. She has made it a point to inscribe her name as Kanimozhi Karunanidhi in all plaques and posters erected by event organisers and her supporters.

The poet-politician from Karunanidhi’s clan had largely not used her surname. Remarkably, the change in nomenclature was appreciated by Stalin, who chooses to add the initial MK (Muthuvel Karunanidhi), better known as Mu Ka in the DMK circles. Notably, another actor from the clan, apart from Udayanidhi Stalin, has been making an appearance in public events regularly. Actor Arulnithi, son of MK Tamilarasu, younger brother of Stalin, has of late been participating in the agitations and rallies organised by Chennai DMK district consistently.
