Arcot Panchangam predicts accident-prone year for TN
The ‘Vilambi’ year will be accident-prone and tough for Tamil Nadu, predicts the Arcot Panchangam.
Madurai
The ‘Arcot’ Panchangam, penned by KN Narayanamoorthy, is one of the trusted panchangams (almanac) and it shot to fame by predicting the ‘Ockhi’ cyclone in Kanniyakumari district. Earlier, the panchangam had predicted even demonetisation and implementation of NEET in Tamil Nadu.
The panchangam was read by Udayakumar, a renowned astrologer and a senior priest in the Ramanathaswamy temple at Rameswaram, on Saturday, the Tamil New Year day.
Udayakumar said the predictions are not coincidental and are made based on the movement of planets. When two planets come in line with each other, a catastrophe is predicted.
Also, every place is assigned with a planet and when a planet has good fortunes the places associated with it will witness growth. The spread of dengue and other deadly diseases are predicted based on the movement of Rahu and Kethu. The eclipses too play a major role in prediction of events that influence the entire country, said Udayakumar.
This year, the panchangam has predicted more frequent forest fires in all the major hills in the state and accidents involving Metro trains. Also, as the lunar eclipse falls in the Aadi, there will be cyclones, storms and downpour in the state, said Udayakumar. He said that according to the panchangam, the ozone hole will become bigger and mobile phone connections will be affected. The spread of dengue will increase and banks would suffer more losses this year, he added.
However, fishermen would benefit as their long- standing problems would be resolved and the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project finalised by the government, predicted the almanac.
