Does Modi have the courage to travel by road, asks Vaiko

Citing the demolition of a wall in the IIT campus to enable the Prime Minister’s helicopter to land near the function venue, Vaiko said “Why is the Prime Minister afraid of black flags. Is he afraid that there will be bombs in the flags?” 

He said Modi had betrayed the state by not forming the Cauvery Management Board, imposing NEET on students and forcing destructive schemes like the neutrino laboratory and hydrocarbon projects. Vaiko said he would lead the black flag agitation near Little Mount here. 

Reacting strongly to Vaiko’s remarks, BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan said the Prime Minister had enough courage to land in Pakistan without prior announcement. 

“Why did Vaiko make a clandestine visit to Sri Lanka in a ‘kallatthoni’. Who was he afraid at that time?” she asked and condemned his remarks that the Prime Minister is a coward. 

The DMK-led opposition parties had passed a resolution to hold black flag demonstrations against Modi during the Prime Minister’s Chennai visit.
