Nagma comes down heavily on PM Modi
All India Mahila Congress leader Nagma Morarji came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) issue on Sunday.
Chennai
“The Prime Minister doesn’t have time to sort the issue of forming the CMB and Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee (CWRC),” she said.
“Modi will not have time for this but will have time to sort out love jihad among others. It is in the domain of the PM to iron this out not the national leaders of the Congress.
The issue is between two states. Being the PM, the onus is on Modi to solve the issue,” she added.
“It is very unfortunate that the farmers and parties had to hit the road on this issue,” she said referring to the protests all over the state.
Asked to spell out the party high-command’s stand, Nagma noted that the Centre has to form the CMB and CWRC as per the orders of the Supreme Court.
“It falls under the ambit of Modi not Rahul Gandhi. Modi is not capable of doing it. If Rahul Gandhi was the PM, you could have asked him to state his stand,” she said.
When pressed further for the party’s stand, she said, “I am the general secretary in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. I have come here with unit’s president and vice-president and we stand with the people of Tamil Nadu which is facing the crisis.”
“Our party’s state unit will participate in the agitations with the DMK and had already hit the road on the issue,” she added.
