Tamilisai hopeful of getting CMB
Even while BJP national secretary H Raja asked the people of Tamil Nadu to pray for a BJP win in Karnataka to get Cauvery water, party’s state president Tamilisai Soundararajan said the people of the state, who had faced the problem created by the Congress for a long time should wait for a shorter period for the Cauvery Management Board’s formation.

Recalling that the Cauvery dispute was a long pending conflict for Tamil Nadu, Tamilisai said the issue remained unsolved by the Congress for a very long time. In a statement here, Tamilisai said it would be unfair to expect the BJP government to solve the crisis within a short period. Even if there is a delay, the BJP government would form the Cauvery Management Board, she said and accused the Opposition parties of trying to gain political mileage out of the crisis.
Party’s national secretary H Raja said Tamil Nadu would get its share of Cauvery water as soon as the BJP formed the government in Karnataka. He alleged that the Congress government in Karnataka is against giving Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. “People in Tamil Nadu should pray for a BJP government in Karnataka. Then only we can get Cauvery water,” he said.
He further said the Supreme Court had not ordered the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board and it had only directed the Centre to evolve a scheme to share Cauvery water among the disputing states. The works for evolving a scheme had already began and a meeting of state secretaries was convened by the Centre for this purpose, he said.
