Rajinikanth has now apparently completed appointment of booth level committee members for 26 districts. He is now in the process of holding a series of meetings to review work done in these districts, while his team is expected to finish work on other districts.Â
The election of office-bearers is being overseen by chief coordinator VM Sudhakar and state secretary Raju Mahalingam. The formal announcement of the launch of a political party is expected to take place after the appointment of all office-bearers for Rajini Makkal Mandram. Rajinikanth’s brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaekwad has also appealed for patience and assured them Rajini will make a statement in this regard once the office-bearers for the remaining 13 districts have been appointed.Â
The Rajini Mandram has already seen its first controversy with the Dindugal district secretary SM Thamburaj suspended for disruptive activities.Â
Thamizharuvi Manian of the Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam continued to voice his support for Rajinikanth. At an event organised in Vellore, he said that in a meeting to be held in May in Coimbatore, there will be answers to many of the questions regarding Rajinikanth’s fledgling political career.Â
Ever since the announcement of Rajinikanth’s entry into politics on December 31 last year, there has been a concerted effort to consolidate his fan base.
