A lot can happen overnight, says Jayakumar on CMB
Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar asserted that the Centre would form the Cauvery Management Board, while asking the critics from Opposition to wait until the deadline besides reigning in on BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan to reflect pro-state sentiments on the issue.

“Many things can happen overnight. We still have three days to the deadline fixed by the Supreme Court,” the Minister said. On steps taken by the state, the Minister said that unanimous resolutions on the Cauvery final verdict had already been taken in the all-party meeting. “The AIADMK government’s stand on seeking CMB would remain unchanged,” Jayakumar said.
Taking pot-shots at Principal Opposition DMK, the Minister blamed it for shifting its stand in several issues. Responding to the BJP leader’s remarks on sidestepping the formation of the CMB, the Minister maintained that she should understand the fact that she lives off Tamil Nadu.
“It is not good on her part to keep retracting from her statements which she had participated in the all-party meeting, and had also voted for the unanimous resolutions seeking the CMB, among others,” he noted.
