The members led by the state president Narayanan raised slogans against the inhuman act. They said that the cutting of sacred thread of Orathanadu SBI branch manager was a barbarous act.
The gang not only assaulted the bank official, but also threatened him after cutting the thread.
“Brahmins never go against the law or spoil public harmony. We want the police to act immediately against the culprits to curtail such attacks on the community. The association will hold mega protests across the state if action has not been initiated,” Narayanan said.
It may be noted, on March 21 at Orathanadu in Thanjavur, an unidentified group of 10 persons, who had approached Prabakaran (56), Manager of SBI, Orathanadu Branch had attacked him and cut his sacred thread and escaped.
