VCK chief questions state’s silence on CMB

At the same time, the VCK would support the DMK, when it moves a contempt of court petition against the Centre, if it fails to establish the CMB.

Speaking to reporters, Thirumavalavan said, “There is no sign of the formation of the board as the deadline for it is fast approaching. The state government, which has to initiate steps to pressurise the Centre has been keeping quiet.” 

“No step has been taken by the state to meet the Prime Minister. If the Prime Minister is not available, the proposed all-party delegation can meet the President and the Union Minister for Water Resources and explain the situation,” he added.

Meanwhile, the VCK chief welcomed the decision of DMK working president MK Stalin to move contempt of court and said that the VCK would support the DMK on this issue. He also pointed out that the Kerala has filed a review petition against the less quantum of water allotted and Tamil Nadu also should file such a petition with the Supreme Court. Thirumavalavan also asked the AIADMK MPs to resign for the CMB formation.
