This was announced by party co-ordinator O Panneerselvam and joint co-ordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami, who issued a joint statement saying that KC Palaniswami had violated party discipline.

Earlier, speaking to the media, KC Palaniswami said, “Cauvery Management Board is a matter of life and death for the state. If the Centre did not accept the demand for CMB, the AIADMK will support the no confidence motion.”

Sources said, AIADMK leaders are furious with KC Palaniswami for his comments even before the leadership could weigh the pros and cons of backing the no confidence vote, besides exploring the possibilities of striking a deal on the CMB issue as the BJP will be free to deal with the matter once the elections in Karnataka are completed.

Another spokesperson and former minister Vaigaiselvan said, “The AIADMK is firm on fighting for the CMB and leadership will take a decision on the no trust vote keeping the state’s interests in mind.”
