Will stall Parliament till CMB is formed, warns Thambidurai
Deputy Leader of Lok Sabha M Thambidurai on Tuesday asserted that the AIADMK would stall Parliament proceedings till the Union government announced the setting up of Cauvery Management Board.

When asked about the Supreme Court verdict using the word ‘scheme’ in its judgment, Thambidurai appealed to the media not to raise a debate over a word instead of reading the judgment as a whole. “What is the order of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal?
The tribunal had ordered the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board and Cauvery Water Regulation Committee. The Supreme Court had upheld the tribunal’s order except for a modification in water share,” he explained.
The refusal of the Centre to deliver justice for Tamil Nadu on the Cauvery issue by establishing the management board was the reason for the disruption of Parliament, he said. Despite continuous protests by the AIADMK, Union ministers were refusing to speak on the issue in Parliament and kept assuring that the board would be set up within six weeks, the stipulated time as per the Supreme Court verdict, he complained.
Thambidurai, also the party’s propaganda secretary said, “We are functioning as per the directions of the party leadership and we will raise the voice of Tamil Nadu in Parliament.”
Dismissing suggestions that all MPs from the state should resign to press for the setting up of the board, he said, “We are ready to quit the MP posts if it brings any positive result. Will there be any result if we resign?”
“Those parties which are demanding the resignation of MPs do not have MPs,” he noted.
