Speaking to reporters, PR Pandian, president of Coordination Committee of All Farmers Associations, said that Tamil Nadu government has convened a meeting of all political parties and farmers associations and discussed the Cauvery issue and decided to meet the Prime Minister to stress the CMB formation as per the Supreme Court direction.
Despite the Chief Minister’s representation, the Prime Minister has been showing least interest in meeting the delegation from the state. “We, the farmers associations condemn the biased nature of the Prime Minister. Modi had not only disrespected the leaders from the state, but also the entire people of Tamil Nadu,” said Pandian.
He said that the farmers associations have planned to organise a series of protests from March 6. “We will kneel in front of the Governor’s office until PM allots time to meet the delegates,” Pandian said and appealed to parties and organisations for support.
