Governor to meet vice-chancellors today

Raj Bhavan sources on Friday said the VCs of more than ten universities are expected to attend the meeting. This would be the first time that Purohit, as the Chancellor, conducting such meeting after taking over as the Governor. 

The meeting is likely to involve discussions on universities’ problems and ways to overcome them. The Governor has instructed the Vice Chancellors to highlight the issues of their respective universities through proper documentation. The Vice Chancellors are also expected to present their suggestions for improving various activities of the universities in the state. 

Higher Education Minister KP Anbalagan and his department officials including the principal secretary will be attending the meeting, which will he held on the Raj Bhavan premises.
