The original petition was filed by one V Nedumaran for a direction to expedite the trial in the land dispute case in which both are named as accused.

Justice M S Ramesh before whom the impleading petitions praying that they should be heard before passing any orders on Nedumaran’s petition came up, ordered the CCB and the petitioner to file their counters and adjourned the case for further hearing to March 21.

Nedumaran of Valasaravakkam had contended that Jyothimani, claiming to be the power agent of a property measuring 2.94 acres in Thalambur village, promised to sell the same for Rs 5.14 crore. For this, he paid an advance of Rs 3.50 crore. But, Jyothimani neither executed the sale deed nor returned the money and threatened him.
