Kamal Haasan parries questions on Gautami’s charges
After an earlier blog post alleging her former partner Kamal Haasan’s company of pending dues owed to her for working as a costume designer in films like Vishwaroopam and Dasavatharam , actress Gautami Tadimalla has now written another entry.
Chennai
In it, she states there is proof of her allegations against Raaj Kamal Films International.
Titled ‘Proof and Judgments,’ Gautami reiterates again that she has ‘nothing to do with Haasan in any way.’ “I expected nothing from anyone, least of all pending salaries from a company that I had worked for in a professional capacity. And, yes, I am surprised and disturbed by the harsh and judgmental reactions from people who know no details about the situation. My reasons for my decision to leave were several and they are strong enough to be irreversible,” says Gautami, who had earlier also written about her separation with Kamal.
She added that as a single mother, she is fighting to start life again and build a secure future on her own – “I need to concentrate my energies on positive and constructive matters. There are good and compassionate human beings in this world and I look for those people to be in my life.”
Gautami thanked the people who had stood by her and concluded saying that she had never been one to throw her words around – for all those who judged her. “When I say something about anyone, I do not speak without reason. And I do not speak without proof.”
When Kamal was questioned about Gautami’s allegations on his arrival in Chennai from Mumbai on Tuesday evening, he responded saying that the company (Raaj Kamal Films International) would handle the matter and he had nothing to add on it.
The actor was also asked about a number of other issues, which had him voice his concerns against the exploitation of labourers and stressed on the need to spread awareness among people as the foremost task. He said that his wish is for no Tamil person to be engaged in any activity that is in violation of the law.
On the brutal sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl in Villupuram, an incident in which her mother too was attacked and brother murdered, Kamal said the law and order situation in the state is dire and the government should take prompt action.
Regarding his visit to Mumbai to pay respects to actress Sridevi, “I went there to console her family and daughters. I do not want to speculate on the death. It is a tragic and unfortunate incident.”
On the recent death of a postgraduate medical student from Tamil Nadu in Haryana he was asked if there was a climate where Tamil students in other state are unsafe/undergo harassment, he said, “There ideally should be no such fear. Many students from other states come to Tamil Nadu for their education without such concerns. The same should be the case for students from here. If this is not the case, something is wrong with our country,” Kamal added.
