The Prime Minister would be arriving in the city in the evening, to launch the ‘Amma Two Wheeler Scheme,’ coinciding with the birth anniversary of the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
A multi-tier security arrangement has been put in place at the airport. As part of the security arrangements, nearly 15,000 police personnel along with ten commando companies were deployed on security duty in the city. Temporary check posts have also been placed at various parts of the city. Police have already started checks on lodges, mansions, marriage halls and busy markets.
Modi would reach the city from Surat on Saturday evening. From the airport he would reach INS Adyar Naval base by a helicopter. Later, he would travel by road to Kalaivanar Arangam, where the two-wheeler subsidy scheme would be launched.
