After launching the party, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), Kamal met reporters in Madurai, on Thursday and said that the crowd that was seen in the public meeting on Wednesday was spontaneous and did not come just to see him because he is an actor. The people, who attended the public meeting, had the confidence that he will bring in the change.

Before starting his political journey, he had stated clearly that both nationalism and Dravidianism would be the pillars of the party, but however, their ideology is to work for the welfare of the people. He again stressed that action is better than ‘isms’ in politics.

Explaining about the party symbol of six joined hands he said that three white hands represents honesty while the rest three red hands represent hard work. When asked that his party name and symbol is akin to that of NGOs he replied that there is nothing wrong either in the symbol or the party name.

At Madurai airport, Kamal said that his fans and party functionaries were present only in the front row of the public meeting and rest was people with high expectations.

By seeing the strength of the crowd, Kamal was sure that the people, who attended the meeting, will definitely support him. Kamal further said, “Corruption is everywhere and my party will weed it out. I am open to criticisms and when people of other parties point out our mistakes we are ready to correct them.
