Posting of Assembly Secretary challenged
The MHC on Thursday issued notice to the state on a plea challenging the appointment of K Srinivasan as Special Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (TNLA).

Justice T Raja, before whom the petition from LS Vasanthimalar, Additional Secretary and B Subramaniyam, Joint Secretary, TNLA, came up for hearing, ordered notice and directed the state to file a copy of Srinivasan’s appointment order as well as the counter affidavit by March 1. The petitioners had contended that TNLA staff are governed by special rules. The plea also sought for an interim injunction restraining the Secretary from taking charge pending disposal of the writ petition. Â
