    Plea seeks 75 percent subsidy for diff-abled in bike scheme

    The Madras High Court has been moved seeking for a 25 per cent increase in the subsidy under the state sponsored ‘Amma Two Wheeler Scheme’ for the differently-abled women to avail of retro fitted three wheeler scooters.

    The plea moved by Tamil Nadu Associations for the Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Care Givers (TARATDAC) also sought the court to direct the government to extend the time limit granted to file applications under the scheme.  

    Justice K Kalyanasundaram, before whom the petition came up for hearing on Tuesday, directed the Registry to post the plea before the portfolio Judge. S Namburajan, secretary, TARATDAC, has submitted the plea.
