Dinakaran, Sasikala discuss plan for new party
RK Nagar legislator TTV Dinakaran on Monday met his aunt VK Sasikala at Bengaluru prison and discussed the measures to form a new party and the arrangements for his tour programme.
Chennai
The meeting assumes significance since the Madras High Court had reserved its verdict on the plea against disqualification of 18 MLAs backing Dinakaran. Besides, the court is to resume the hearing on the plea to disqualify 11 MLAs, including Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam this week. The RK Nagar MLA is fighting a case in the Delhi High Court seeking a name for his party and the ‘Pressure Cooker’ symbol for it. The Election Commission had opposed his plea giving a name to his party on grounds that he is not leading a registered party.
One of the functionaries supporting Dinakaran said, “Discussions took place over the formation of a new party and the option of launching a forum. The political development in Tamil Nadu and the likely response for the expected judgment by the Madras High Court were discussed.”
Dinakaran had already come out with the conditions to save the state government when it faced a crisis and his further response would depend on Sasikala’s suggestions to him, the TTV supporter added.
