Kamal Haasan slams concept of caste politics

Just days before his political journey across the state is set to begin, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has slammed the concept of caste politics in the state and how it plays a big role in electoral gains. He alleged that rural students and farmers are the most affected by the caste factor in politics.

In his weekly column for a Tamil magazine, he also expanded more on how his welfare schemes would focus more on villages in the state and that he would debut a model that will pay special attention to farmers. He added that the existing government as well as the previous ones had not paid enough attention to the development of rural infrastructure.

Kamal talked about his recent trip to the United States of America, where he wanted to adopt the knowledge of several Indians, especially in the tech field. He also mentioned his meeting with the founder of Bloom Energy KR Sridhar and the possibility of their technology being used in the progress of villages across Tamil Nadu.

According to Kamal, several entrepreneurs are ready to come on board to improve the state of the agrarian community and make them profitable. The 63-year-old actor had earlier announced that he would adopt a village and turn it into a ‘model’ that could be replicated anywhere in the world and would set standards in development.
