Kamal Haasan to file affidavit in Election Commission for new party

The actor, who is in Harvard now, may get his representatives to file the affidavit to register the party and avail a new symbol next week. A committee Kamal had constituted earlier to oversee the formalities was understood to have met here recently. 

According to the sources in the committee, the delegation, which took the signatures of five functionaries from each district, may leave for the national capital on February 12 or 13 and submit the papers to register the party. The actor who has been talking about making an official foray into politics, has planned a rally at his native Ramanathapuram on February 21. 

He is expected to announce the party’s name during that meeting.  When contacted, the official spokesperson of the actor dismissed the news, and said that matter could be confirmed only after Kamal returns to India on February 14.
