BJP distances itself from Swamy’s remark

BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan distanced herself from the comments of her party colleague Subramanian Swamy on Cauvery water dispute. Tamilisai cleared the air on Sunday that the views of Swamy are of his own and the state unit of the BJP do not subscribe to the same.

“If he makes a remark, it belongs to him. We do not have to view them as that of the BJP’s,” she explained, when asked to clarify the party’s stand on Cauvery issue, since Swamy had asserted that getting from water from Cauvery as impossible. “He always has his own set of views. His remark on Cauvery is one such. It is pertinent to note that he had even made adverse remarks on BJP itself,” she added.

As regards to the fire in Meenakshi Amman temple in Madurai, Tamilisai demanded that a judicial probe must be ordered into the incident.
