Small-time actor, 2 others held in school trustee kidnap case

The school trustee Senthilkumar (42) was kidnapped on December 19 and released a day later by a gang in Dharmapuri district for a ransom on Rs 50 lakh. Following which, cops had suspected and nabbed Priya, a teacher who formerly worked in Senthilkumar’s school. 

Interrogation revealed that Priya was furious when she heard that the school had planned to suspend her following complaints of her being strict with students. Estranged from her husband, she developed intimacy with a small-time actor Hari of Chennai and sought his help to take revenge on her former school. 

Hari sought help from his friends, Muthu (27) and Khalil Ibrahim (32), who staged the kidnap. On being arrested, cops recovered Rs 15 lakh cash. Police are interrogating Priya. Meanwhile, Hari surrendered before the Chennai George Town Magistrate Court, following which Vellore police are yet to take him into their custody.
