Addressing reporters at Thoothukudi airport, Khusbhu said that in the BJP rule, it is a well known fact that the rich get richer and poor get poorer.

“The Union Budget of 2018 had once again proved that only the rich are reaping the benefits and there is nothing left for common man,” she said. She also said that when she went through the budget, she could not find anything comprehensive for the farmers. The budget was designed with Karnataka state election in mind as several Railway schemes had been announced for Bengaluru. Tamil Nadu has no new projects in any of the sectors said Kushbhu.

She further alleged that the BJP, anticipating a drub in Rajasthan bypoll, had planned the election results on the Budget day to hide the news of their loss.

“People in the country have realised that it is the last budget for the BJP and are mentally ready to oust the party from power,” she noted.

“Finance Minister Arun Jaitely was not an economist like former prime minister Manmohan Singh and former finance minister P Chidambaram, so, a good budget benefiting the common man cannot be expected from him,” she added.
