His supporters said the verdict on the appeal against the disqualification of 18 MLAs is expected to be delivered soon after the completion of his tour programme and his public meetings would prepare the ground for the removal of the government.

In the public meetings, Dinakaran would reveal his future plans and the course of action he would take after the judgment on the disqualification case. Among the delta districts, Thanjavur has a huge population of Mukkalathor community and Dinakaran’s family has deep roots in the area. With the people of delta areas up against the methane projects in the area, Dinakaran would focus on the opposition to such projects by former chief minister J Jayalalithaa and build momentum for the removal of the government.

Dinakaran, speaking to reporters, a day ahead of the tour asserted that Palaniswami government would be sent home after a favourable judgment by the Madras High Court.  His supporter Thangathamizhselvan ruled out any compromise with Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.

In Thanjavur district four Assembly seats-Thanjavur, Papanasam, Pattukottai and Peravurani- are with the AIADMK and former district secretary M Rengasamy is backing Dinakaran.

Dinakaran would begin the tour at Thiruvidaimarudhur Assembly constituency on February 2 and address meetings at nine places. The next day, he would attend nine meetings at the temple town of Kumbakonam at venues near bypass roads and market places. On February 4, he would tour around Papanasam constituency and his meetings cover nine areas including Kabisthalam and Ammapet.

At Thiruvaiyaru, he would address eight public meetings near bypass roads and Thirukattupalli. He would start the second leg of his tour programme at Thanjavur on February 10 and speak at five meetings in the town. He would visit Orathanadu the next day and attend eight meetings. At Pattukottai, he would address meetings at eight places, while at Peravurani he would speak at six places.
