According to police, V Ramachandran, 71, and his wife Ambujam, 65, both doctors and running a private clinic, were returning after visiting the Guruvayurappan temple in Kerala. The accident happened at Gollapalli village, near Shoolagiri.Â
It is said that the elderly couple and their car driver S Biju, 35, hail from RT Nagar in Bengaluru. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the mishap happened as Biju had dozed off at the wheel.Â
