Seer’s words misinterpreted, says Pon Radhakrishnan
Downplaying the row that was triggered by Srivilliputhur seer Sri Sadagopa Ramanujar’s comment that the religious persons, too, know how to hurl soda bottles, union minister Pon Radhakrishnan said the language used by sadhus is different from that of the common man.

According to him, the seer could have been commenting philosophically about soda bottle being discarded after the contents was emptied.
Seers lead a peaceful life and want peace to prevail, Radhakrishnan noted, and advised against interpreting their way of speaking.
“The language I speak is different from that of the religious people,” the union minister said, while replying to the media in Tiruchy on Saturday.
Radhakrishnan added that a section was trying to create a controversy over the junior seer of Kanchi Mutt, Vijayendra Saraswathi, not standing up for Tamil invocation song (Tamizh Thai Vazhthu), despite the Mutt clarifying the matter.
Meanwhile, rebel AIADMK leader and RK Nagar MLA, TTV Dinakaran, condemned the Srivilliputhur seer over his comment on knowing how to hurl soda bottle.
In a statement here on Saturday, Dinakaran said it was the steadfast adherence to non-violence and compassion that was the basic difference between spiritual leaders
and ordinary people. The seer’s remarks that he could throw soda bottle was “shocking, unacceptable and condemnable”, he said, adding that such comments defamed spirituality itself. The rebel leader also appealed to Kanchi Mutt junior pontiff Vijayendra Saraswathi to express regrets for not standing up for the Tamil invocation song and to put an end to the controversy.
