Withdraw dynamic pricing of fuel: DMK
Condemning the Centre and state for not making efforts to reduce fuel price, DMK working president M K Stalin, on Wednesday, urged the BJP-led Centre to withdraw its policy of dynamic pricing mechanism for fuel.

Accusing the Centre of hiking excise duty on petrol and diesel nine times since forming the government in 2014 and preventing the benefits of falling international crude price from reaching the people, Stalin asked the Centre to make necessary provisions in the union budget to regulate or check the fuel price.
Opining that the government could ensure supply of petrol and diesel at less price by decreasing the excise duty or bringing petrol and diesel under GST ambit, Stalin appealed to the Centre and state to withdraw the already hiked excise duty and sales tax.
Expressing shock at the Centre and state remaining mute spectator to people becoming victims of private oil companies, the Leader of Opposition wondered why the Centre had not cut petrol and diesel prices even after international crude rates fell from $108.65 to $64.42.
Earlier, Stalin asked the ruling AIADMK to immediately convene the Assembly to discuss the extraordinary situation created by the recent bus fare hike. Responding to queries, Stalin referred to police lathi charge against students who attempted to picket the CM’s house in the city this morning and said the recent bus fare hike has given rise to an extraordinary situation in the state and hence the incumbent regime should immediately convene the House to discuss the prevailing situation.
