MGR’s med records given to EPS
Former Health Minister HV Hande has handed over the medical records of former Chief Minister MGR to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the CM, Hande revealed that the documents were handed over for safe-custody and preservation.
“I think it will be apt if it is in the custody of the state as Edappadi government has been celebrating the MGR centenary with pomp and gait. They will preserve it for posterity,” Hande said.
Hande noted that the medical records pertain to the month-long hospitalisation of MGR at Apollo Hospitals here in 1984 before the AIADMK founder was shifted to a hospital in Brooklyn in the US.
“The medical records were crucial for continuing treatment and they were returned to me when I came back to file the nomination for MGR who contested from Andipatti constituency. Since then, I had been the custodian of this file. When I wanted to give it to MGR, he returned it to me stating that it would be safe with me,” he said.
