Minister to visit US for Harvard Tamil Chair
Tamil Development Minister K Pandiarajan would go to the United States later this week to raise money for the Harvard Tamil Chair. He has meetings lined up with Harvard Tamil Chair Inc which is spearheading the donation drive and Harvard University top brass over the proposed set up of the Tamil Chair.

Speaking to reporters, Pandiarajan said the purpose of his visit is to have elaborate talks with the team that manages HTC Inc created by two doctors – Dr Vijay Janakiraman and Dr Sundaresan Sambandam, to raise money. He would also meet the top people of the Varsity’s Department of South Asian Studies to discuss the purview of the research, among others. Earlier, poet Kavidasan handed over a cheque for Rs 10 lakh collected from Kongu region to Pandiarajan, towards contributing to the Tamil Chair.
