Minister raps police for not taking action
When it came to his knowledge that a driver was injured while pro-strike workers tried to prevent the operation of buses, he asked why the police were acting in support of the Opposition.

Commercial Taxes Minister KC Veeramani pulled up the police for not acting against those preventing the crew from plying the government buses on Saturday.
He visited the bus depot at Tirupatthur, 85 km from Vellore, along with the Vellore ADSP M Balakrishnan and other revenue officials. When it came to his knowledge that a driver was injured while pro-strike workers tried to prevent the operation of buses, he asked why the police were acting in support of the Opposition.
Meanwhile, Vellore, Ranipet and Vaniyambadi RTOs waived toll charges for private buses to meet the situation.
