Apollo’s director of med services deposes before one-man panel
On Thursday, Dr Sathyabhama, Director of Medical Services at Apollo Hospitals, deposed before Justice A Arumughaswamy of the one-man committee probing Jayalalithaa’s death.

Arriving at the Kalas Mahal in the morning, her interaction with the inquiry commission went on for nearly three hours.
Based on her responses, the committee will also further decide on the doctors who will be summoned next.
IAS officer and former advisor to Jayalalithaa, Sheela Balakrishnan, who deposed two weeks earlier in front of the committee, has now been summoned again after recent developments in the inquiry.
Dr Sivakumar (who is married into Sasikala’s family) and one of the doctors who was treating the former CM, has been asked to meet Justice Arumughasamy on January 8. Jayalalithaa’s personal assistant Poongundran has also been summoned to depose on January 9, while her personal security officer Perumalsamy is expected to be at Kalas Mahal on January 10 next week.
Doctors Balaji (January 11) and Swaminathan (January 12) are the other people who have been called in so far by the inquiry commission.
