All have right to launch parties in democracy: Pondy CM
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy hailed top actor Rajinikanth's decision to enter politics, saying "all have the right to launch political parties in a democracy."
Puducherry
Narayanasamy said Tamil Nadu is a big state where several actors had launched their respective parties.
"Some have succeeded in their efforts and many have ended up in failure," he said at a press conference here.
"I felicitate the superstar for his resolve to start a party," he said in response to a question on the actor's decision to enter politics.
The chief minister said the Congress, DMK, left parties and other secular outfits are very strong in Tamil Nnadu and are a powerful front.
He felt that Rajinikanth was apparently trying to capitalise on the current crisis in the AIADMK and hence might have taken the decision to plunge into politics.
Narayanasamy said there was no clarity in what Rajinikanth meant when he said he would champion "spiritual politics."
"Politics and spirituality have no nexus and nothing to do mutually and hence there is no clarity in what he has said," he said.
"One has to wait and see what he really means," Narayanasamy said.
