A lesson for AIADMK, says Minister

Accepting the defeat in RK Nagar by-election state Minister for Dairy Development Rajenthra Bhalaji on Monday said that a lesson has been learnt from the bypoll and it will help the party to win the elections in future.

Though a high-level party meeting was held in Chennai on Monday, in which important party functionaries participated, four Ministers, including Rajenthra Bhalaji did not make it. He was in Srivilliputhur to participate in a marriage function of a party functionary.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “In any election only one person can win and in RK Nagar this time, sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran has won. There is nothing for a political party to complain about it.

A party like the AIADMK will not fall by a loss in a single constituency.” Bhalaji termed the defeat in RK Nagar as a lesson for the party and said it will help them win the elections in future. He further said that he has not got the invite for the party meeting in Chennai.

“Since, I have not got the invitation, I started to Virudhunagar. Only after reaching there, I was informed about the meeting in Chennai. I explained to party leaders of my schedule and they permitted me to stay back,” Bhalaji said.
