Police bust carjacking gang, 4 held
The Kancheepuram police on Thursday busted a carjack gang, that took away the car of a textile businessman on November 10 at knife point while he was travelling on the Bengaluru – Chennai highway near Baluchetty Chatram.

A BBA graduate and three car drivers, who were together trying to set up a travel agency with stolen cars, were arrested, said police. The gang stopped a car, owned by a businessman Amjad Khan of Krishnagiri, when he was on his way to Chennai on November 10.
The gang had stopped him near Wallajah toll gate, bundled him out of the car at knife point before driving away the vehicle. The Baluchetty Chatram police team, combed the CCTV footage from the locality and nearby areas, before zeroing in on the vehicle, which was being used by the gang with a fake registration number plate.
After Amjad Khan identified the car in CCTV footage, police tracked the driver and found that it was the idea of BBA graduate R Karthik of Pattukottai. Dheena Dayalan (23) of Ranipettai, Dhanasekahran (29) of Wallajah and Balasubramanian (32) of Ranipetai were also arrested.
