Dashwanth’s aide taken to Thoothukudi

Kundrathur police, who have arrested Dashwanth’s aide Manikandan, have taken him to Thoothukudi to recover the jewels that belonged to Dashwanth’s mother Sarala.

Dashwanth told police that he gave his mother’s jewels (about 15 sovereigns) to Manikandan, who was referred to him by his prison mate David. However, since Manikandan went into hiding, Dashwanth took Rs 40,000 from David and escaped to Mumbai. After Dashwanth’s arrest, police launched a hunt for Manikandan and traced him to his friend’s house in T Nagar. 

Dashwanth, who has been remanded in judicial custody in connection with his mother’s murder case, is facing trial in rape-and-murder of seven-year-old Hasini.
