Chennai
Sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran, who was formally announced by his supporters as the candidate to contest the RK Nagar bypoll, on Wednesday said that the people of the constituency would deliver justice by making him victorious.
Speaking to the media after meeting his aunt VK Sasikala at Bengaluru, Dinakaran said, ‘Two Leaves’ symbol had fallen into the hands of betrayers and people would reject them. He said his aunt was with the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for three decades and people would support him on that count.
He said people did not like the present state government headed by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and asserted the disenchantment would get reflected in the elections. Dinakaran also said he would seek the ‘hat symbol’ again for the bypoll, adding that he would file a petition in the Supreme Court against the Election Commission order allocating ‘Two Leaves’ symbol to the ruling camp led by CM Palaniswami and deputy CM O Panneerselvam.
The betrayers had created a situation of contesting against ‘Two Leaves’ to retrieve it, Dinakaran said and vowed to get back the symbol. Dinakaran said he had met Sasikala and got her blessings to contest the bypoll. He asserted that 99 per cent of the AIADMK cadre are with him and those who came expecting benefits had deserted him.
MDMK, TMC’s stand on bypoll

Meanwhile, Tamil Maanila Congress Moopanar (TMC-M) party on Wednesday announced his party has decided to boycott the RK Nagar bypoll.
