EC names 3 expenditure observers for RK Nagar
The Election Commission has named three more officials on Tuesday as Expenditure Observers for the by-poll to the RK Nagar seat.

“The three officers appointed are Kumar Pranav, Indian Revenue Service, Sheel Asheesh, Indian Railway Accounts Service, and TK Jagoria, Indian Defence Account Service”, said Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Rajesh Lakhoni. They would report for duty on December 7.
The EC had announced the schedule for the bypoll last week and the counting would be held on December 24. The final electoral rolls for the by-poll would be released on December 4.
Observers take guard
General Observer and Law & Order Observer for the constituency were appointed to the RK Nagar constituency, said D Karthikeyan, Corporation Commissioner and District Election Officer.
Kamlesh Kumar Pant, Chief Vigilance Officer in the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), had been appointed as General Observer, and can be reached on 94450 71063. Similarly, Immanuel K Muivah, a Manipur-cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as Law & Order Observer and can be reached on 94450 71061. The public can contact both officials for complaints.
The toll-free number of city corporation 1913 and 1800- 4257012 which can simultaneously receive four callers are already in existence at Election Control Room. The public can also WhatsApp their complaints to 75502 25820 and 75502 25821.
The official also appealed to the electorate and the political parties to extend their cooperation for the conduct of free and fair election.
Five file nominations
The nominations for the bypoll opened on Monday and five male candidates had filed their nominations till Tuesday. “As many as 4 filed their papers on day one and one more aspirant filed his nomination on Tuesday,” according to Tamil Nadu Elections Website.
