Chennaiites among 5 killed in 2 accidents
Police said S Timothy (33), resident from Ambathur along with his brother S Titus (30), sister S Sheeba (24) and their friend M Sathish Kumar (22) from Dharmapuri were returning home from Marthandam in Kanniyakumari district after visiting his grandparents.

Five persons, including three youth from Chennai, were killed in two separate accidents in Tiruchy and Pudukkottai on Monday.
Police said S Timothy (33), resident from Ambathur along with his brother S Titus (30), sister S Sheeba (24) and their friend M Sathish Kumar (22) from Dharmapuri were returning home from Marthandam in Kanniyakumari district after visiting his grandparents.
Timothy who was at the wheel lost control when their car was passing through Viralur near Viralimalai on Madurai-Tiruchy highway and the vehicle collieded with a Madurai-bound TNSTC bus from Tiruchy. IN the impact Timothy was killed on the spot while Titus and Sathish Kumar sustained severe head injuries. Sheeba escaped with minor injuries.
On information, Viralimalai police reached the spot, rescued the injured Titus and Sathish Kumar and sent them to Tiruchy GH.
However, both the injured died on the way to the hospital. Police registered a case and arrested S Kannan from Madurai, the driver of TNSTC bus. Further investigations are on.
In another case, Dhason Leony (50), a resident of an area near Tiruchy airport and his wife Punithavalli (46), both headmasters in different schools were going in a car to Pettaivaithalai to distribute wedding invitations.
On the way, their vehicle collided a tanker lorry and both were killed on the spot. Pettaivaithalai police have registered a case and are investigating.
