Sivanthi Aditanar memorial at prime spot in Tiruchendur
Following the announcement of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in Thoothukudi on Wednesday regarding the construction of a memorial for Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar of Daily Thanthi Group, Thoothukudi Collector N Venkatesh said on Thursday that the memorial would be located at a prime location in Tiruchendur.

Participating in the MGR centenary celebrations in Thoothukudi on Wednesday, the Chief Minister had, in his address, assured that the government would take up the construction work in 2018-19.
The Thoothukudi district administration swung into action to identify the land for the memorial on Thursday. Speaking to DTNext, Venkatesh said that the request for allocation of land for the memorial was received a couple of months ago. A meeting with the local officials in this regard would be conducted soon, the Collector added. The work for the memorial would commence as per government plan, Venkatesh noted.
