Aramm story copied from my movie: Kannada filmmaker
The film Aramm has been released in Karnataka too. The suit also sought Rs 2 crore as compensation.
Chennai
The Madras High Court has been moved seeking to restrain Kotapadi J Rajesh of KJR Studios, Gopi Nainar, director and Nayanthara, actress, from exhibiting the Tamil feature film Aramm. In a civil suit filed in this regard, the plaintiff, Vishnu Movie Makers in Mysore, represented by HG Manoj Kumar, contended that it had produced a Kannada film titled Parivara in 2013 and obtained censor certificate the same year. But the film could not be released due to financial problems. It arranged a preview show to the distributors and friends, in which Gopi Nainar also participated.
Manoj Kumar on noting that it was shocking to see the film Aramm, a replica of Parivara, said Gopi Nainar had copied the Kannada version of his film without obtaining any rights or permission from Vishnu Movie Makers. The film Aramm has been released in Karnataka too. The suit also sought Rs 2 crore as compensation.
