Justice N Kirubakaran, who recorded the appearance of the office-bearers of the Tamil Nadu High and Higher Secondary School Graduate Teachers’ Association, refused to pass any orders on the penal action that has been initiated against certain teachers who had slammed the judiciary.
The matter relates to the strike call given by various teachers associations in connection with various demands and Justice Kirubakaran while condemning the teachers strike raised several questions including whether the teachers can have a union.
In the above context, there were several comments against the Judge in the social media and at one stage there were comments hitting the Judge directly which were brought to his notice. Following this, on Sept 22, the Judge directed the police to take action against those defaming the judiciary as per law.
